It was just Todd and I fishing on Friday Nov 3rd. The air started out at freezing but got up in the 50’s before we left. Water temp was in the mid 40’s and moderately stained. It was small jigs and small cranks that caught the fish. I used the Ragetail baby bug and 3.25 swimmers, along with the Adams ATAK cranks in Bluegill and Sunfish patterns. My reel today was the LEW’S Hyperdrive for jigging and LEW’S Super Duty for the cranks, both baitcasters. Rods were of course custom from Big Dady Rods, Med light for jigging and Med HVY for cranks. We started out HOT catching 40 fish in the first 2 hrs, nothing really big and got noticed! Soon a couple of boats moved in and I suggested to Todd to move far away and we did. We caught only another 40 fish in the next 4 hrs but they were quality bass! The prize at least to me was when Todd caught a baby 24″ musky on a jig. You see even though I do 250 charters a year, my boat has not caught a juvenile musky in 5 years and we should be catching them right along on bass lures. So there is some hope for the musky fishery. We still need the Fish Commission to stock pure breds in Bradford County! I still have open charter spots for Nov and Dec. Come join in the fun!
